Jeanette Caines is the director and owner of Jewelry Arts Inc. in New York City, where she also began her career in jewelry design as a novice student and teacher. For 30 years, her work as a goldsmith has focused on preserving and reviving ancient jewelry-making techniques. An expert in her field, she once discovered that an Etruscan-era gold piece of jewelry was an imposter while working to recreate it for the Metropolitan Museum of Art. She has been featured in the PBS/Nova special segment on gold, "Treasures of the Earth: Metals." Jeanette is the author of Soldering Demystified, an Amazon #1 Best Seller and a #1 New Release in 2015. She is the recipient of the 2016 Santa Fe Symposium® Technical Innovation Award and is a three-time presenter at the Symposium.
