During Marlene Richey’s more than 35 years building a career in jewelry, design and business, she has run a wholesale jewelry design business and a retail gallery, has done hundreds of shows—craft and trade and for nine years traveled to all corners of the US selling the award-winning Marlene brand. She is a consultant, author, professor and advocate working with art-based businesses on how to be successful. Marlene has written articles for jewelry/craft publications and authored an award-winning book about running a small jewelry design business, titled Profiting by Design, published by MJSA Press. Marlene has taught at the Fashion Institute of Technology and Maine College of Art as well as at schools, guilds and organizations around the United States. Marlene also writes two regular blogs for Rio Grande called “Business Know How” and “Influencers.”
