2002 Saul Bell Design Award Winners

The second annual Saul Bell Design Award competition challenged designers to unleash their imagination and create innovative designs in four different categories. In addition, Swarovski® sponsored one special $5000 award for the winning entrant who incorporated Swarovski crystals into their original design.

Gold/Platinum
The predominant metal is gold, platinum, or a combination of both. May be cast, fabricated, forged, assembled or any combination of techniques. Must be your original design.

Precious Metal Clay®
The predominant material is either silver or gold Precious Metal Clay®. Must be your original design.

Beads
The predominant design elements are beads, pearls, or other strung ornaments. Beads may be any material. Must be your original design or assembly.

Silver
The predominant metal is silver. May be cast, fabricated, forged, assembled or any combination of techniques. Must be your original design.

Swarovski® Special Award
Special award of $5000 for those who incorporate Swarovski® crystals into their design in a significant way.

Prizes were awarded in four categories, with four Second Place winners, three First Place winners and one Grand Prize winner. Below, Rio Grande proudly presents the winners of the 2002 Saul Bell Design Award Competition.
