"The Hummingbird Necklace"

Artist Statement: "The Hummingbird Necklace" was inspired by the iridescent plumage of a fiery-throated hummingbird and the beautiful metallic colors of the recycled Nespressocoffee capsules. Each component was individually cut out, corrugated and artistically placed. It makes a soft rustling sound when worn.

Artist Statement: The center segment shows the full moon on February 7, 2001. The larger silver rivet above the moon is atlantis, launched just after moonrise into a sky so clear that even 130 miles away, the sight was breathtaking. the rest of the rivets are stars each night of the lunar cycle.
